Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Highlights: After registration at Machame Gate, begin your climb through dense, mossy rainforest. Look out for black-and-white Colobus monkeys and exotic mountain flora as you trek to Machame Camp.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Elevation: 2,835m to 3,850m | Distance: 5 km | Hiking Time: 4–6 hours
Highlights: Leave the rainforest behind and hike across steep moorland ridges. Cross the scenic Shira Plateau with breathtaking vistas of Kibo Peak and the Western Breach.
Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (Summit Base)
Elevation: 3,960m to 4,670m | Distance: 4 km | Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Highlights: Walk through a stark alpine desert to reach Barafu Camp. Eat a high-energy dinner early, prep your thermal gear, and get some sleep before your midnight trek to the summit.
Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (Summit Day!) to Mweka Camp
Elevation: 4,670m to 5,895m (Summit) down to 3,100m | Distance: 16 km total | Hiking Time: 11–15 hours
Highlights: Begin your night ascent by headlamp to Stella Point on the crater rim. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at dawn to celebrate on top of Africa! Descend back to Barafu for a brief rest and continue down to Mweka Camp.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (Moshi/Arusha)
Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m | Distance: 10 km | Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Highlights: Final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Collect your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate, bid farewell to your mountain crew, and transfer back to your hotel.
