Mount Kilimanjaro,Tanzania 6 Days 4.9 (8 reviews)

About This Package

Embark on a spectacular journey up Mount Kilimanjaro via the unique Rongai Route—the only trail that approaches Africa’s highest peak from the quieter northern side, near the Kenyan border. Known for its moderate slope, pristine wilderness, and low crowd levels, the Rongai Route offers a peaceful, scenic, and authentic trekking experience.

Because the northern side receives less rainfall, this route is ideal for trekkers seeking drier conditions and panoramic views of the vast African savannahs. Experience dramatic landscape transitions, from quiet pine forests and open moorlands to high alpine deserts, culminating at the breathtaking Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

Tour Highlights:

Only Northern Approach: Experience Kilimanjaro from a remote, pristine direction with fewer crowds.

Wilderness & Wildlife: Spot colobus monkeys and enjoy untouched natural trails along the Kenyan border.

Great Acclimatization Profile: Steady, gradual incline allows for an excellent summit success rate.

Panoramic Views: Stunning vistas of Mawenzi Peak and the vast plains of Amboseli.

Day-by-Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Nalemoru Gate to Simba Camp

Elevation: 2,000m to 2,625m | Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Elevation: 4,315m to 4,700m | Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Cross the lunar-like alpine desert of the "Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Arrive early at Kibo Hut for rest and dinner before the midnight summit push.

Elevation: 4,700m to 5,895m (Summit) down to 3,700m | Hiking Time: 11–15 hours
